Starting a Landscaping business at 15 HELP!?

Inez Relihan: Are you old enough to drive? How do you get your equipment to each property? What happens when school starts in Sept? Do you have liability insurance? What will you do if someone working for you gets injured on the job? What will you do if you damage someones property while mowing or trimming? What do you know about landscaping?I think a better idea is to work for a landscaper first to learn the business....Show more

Moises Rupinski: People will always tell you why you ought not start a business.I admire you for trying to do it - so, here's my advice....1) Do a survey in your local area - targetted to those with gardens (yards). Knock on their door and ask them if they'd employ you. If they say no, ask them what it would take for them to change their minds - then just do it!2) Have the adult come round with you (for free when you're doing your research) and demonstrate that your business knows what it's talking about when it comes to landscaping.! 3) Give them proof you can do it - take photos of any landscaping you've already done - and ask those you've done it for to write a 2-3 line testimonial about what a great job you've done.4) Once you have the answers, you have a feels for how many customers you may win, and you'll know whether it makes sense to hire extra people. 5) Only make a manager a manager though. Don't promote simply because he/she got in to the business first. Only promote on merit. Might be the worlds best landscaper and worst manager, so you want him/her to stick to landscaping....Show more

Monroe Rainey: It is hard work but you can do it. I would start with doing your own yard and take pictures of your work. If your work is good, you will get references - if you want to make this a career, learn your trade, you have plenty of time to study gardening books and get ideas from pictures - - good luck

Elissa Curlin: A push lawn mower, weed eater, rake, & a broom. Start small and pay your bu! siness well, and expand
