Angelyn Ducas: Indeed, the tulip gardens are in a constant state of maintenance, but you'd never know it by their beautiful condition. Tulips require intense care to be at their best, so the bulbs are only used when they are in their prime, usually only one season. They are cultivated in fields where the blossoms are cut off as soon as they open in the spring and the bulbs are allowed to become fat.
