Venetta Coulbourne: How about paper mache'? There are several sites on the Internet that have recipes. Or, you could go to Michaels and get the Celluclay. It's fun and a bit messy. Crafts and Things for holidays had several paper mache ideas this time. The old fashioned way is to use newspaper strips, cover with flour paste or wallpaper paste, put it over a form and let it dry. Then, paint it to suit. But this new generation does tremendous things with it.Have fun w! hatever you decide.Teresa Stevens...Show more
Rosalba Lingner: Take an 8inch clay flower pot, primer it, paint it whatever color you want, flock it and then cut a peice of flower foam to fit inside. Now you will need a package of writing pens (a cheap bic will do), florist tape & artificial flowers (I used sunflowers). using wire snippers cut the flowers from the stems. Take 1 pen (remove the cap), using the florist tape start wrapping the flower so that it will be on top of the pen, continue wrapping the GREEN florist tape down the pen until you get to the bottom of the pen (not the part where the writing tip is--dont go down that far). Put the lid back on your pen and stick it in the florist foam inside the pot. Continue wrapping flowers this way until your pot is full of "flowers". These make wonderful gifts for teachers, I give them away once in a while to a favorite restaurant, neighbor...I even gave the mailman one at christmas a few years ago. he was so ! tickled! I do alot of online ordering and when he delivers me! a package...he's STILL using one of my pens!...Show more
