Prerequisite - Humanities?

Giovanna Cramblit: In Canada you don't have "pre-med". Usually you have to take a bachelor's degree before medicine. You can take music and still get into medicine. MOST universities ask for prerequisites like chemistry, biology, humanities...etc Not all though. I'm taking a Bachelor's degree in Health sciences and as a first year undergraduate I'm required to take a credit in humanities and half a credit as an elective. What humanities and what elective course increases the chances of me getting into medicine?...Show more

Cassondra Vanholland: What kind of premed program are you in? If they haven't told you that English is a REQUIREMENT for medical school, then you need to find one that is more informed.

Mayola Sylva: .

Neville Dautremont: Go with English; The university is recommending it for a reason. Ask your adviser if there is another elective they recommend. Also Sign-language is going to be dead in a decade thanks to Cochlear Implants.

Dext! er Dingus: What elective should I take?!?! (I'm mentally dying here!)

Jannette Kotz: As someone who's been where you are, I also highly recommend English 101 (if you have not taken it). It is a basic course which you'll need eventually. Concerning the elective, I chose a foreign language, though sign language is also an acceptable choice.Good luck. :)
