Shemeka Laker: i am 13 and have only one friend so would not be on it alot
Alecia Kaehler: Yes, a 13 can have a cell phone already, but use only prepaid for limitations on the call and text stuff. I got one when I was 8, and ever since then I do not even bother calling or texting too much my parents (since I do not get into any trouble as of now). I am only given about enough load to text 10 times, and I rarely exceed the limit. I normally use and buy cellphones because of their good secondary features, like an mp3 and video player, megapixel camera, good color display and style....Show more
Ilana Gaster: prepaid cellphone, when you are 13 you talk a lot or if you get a contract phone don't use it a lot or you will get it cut the first month, good luckcan some one check this...Show more
Gregory Dilg: If a 13 year old MUST have a cell phone, I would suggest pre-paid. That way, you won't ruin your credit (or your parents) so early!
Dalila Yoon: I! f your parents have a cell phone plan, it's cheaper for them to just add you. It's also possible for them to limit or block text messages, so if you are worried about abusing them or need a reason to keep your friends from abusing them, have it blocked. Having a cell phone is not a "right of passage", meaning you don't magically deserve one for making it to the ripe old age of 13. If you are responsible, make good grades, and need it for safety or to allow your parents to stay in touch you should have one. My daughter is 11 and she got her phone last year. It was helpful for me, because I don't have to keep a log of all of her friend's phone numbers....I just need to know hers to reach her during a sleepover, skating, etc... But she has NO excuse for not answering it. That is a sure way to lose it!!!...Show more

Malcom Fenoff: Prepaid it's the best way to teach responsibility.
David Kuper: prepaid But I feel that a 13 y.o is too irresponsible to have a cell phone
