Questions about motorcycle driving?

Rose Krouse: Most accidents happen because other drivers didn't pay attention and didn't see the motorcycle. When you ride be sure to wear clothes that make you visible and always expect other drivers to be complete idiots.

Felipa Nosis: 1.Go slow. this ll cause little damage.2.Wear helmet. This ll protect you.3.watch out on your pathsome accidents caused by drivers mistake but most of them caused by other drivers and reasons..I met with an accident 4 months ago. I was passing the road at 25 kmph..car parked 500m in front of me.. When i reached the car i tried to over take on its right side suddenly a lady inside the car opened the door .. And the edge of the door had an impact with my calor bone.. So though you are good the others will not be good....Show more

Robbie Starchman: Most car/bike accidents are caused by the car. Bike only is mostly a combination. Brake before the turn, stay in gear and enter turns late with an apex cutting curve.

Jestine Osum! i: There are a number of single-vehicle motorcycle accidents, which it is hard to argue are not the rider's fault - even if the road was badly maintained or badly lit, it's still the rider's fault for going too fast for the conditions. I'd guess a lack of experience, rider distraction, a fast bike tempting the rider beyond their skill level. In the US FARS database, there were 4,283 motorcycle crashes in 2011. In 2023 cases, only 1 vehicle form was submitted, in 1990, 2 forms, in 213, 3 forms. That might suggest that about half of all motorcycle crashes were single-vehicletips:- ride assertively as if you don't mean to give way to anyone, but actually be prepared to avoid everyone (I mean vehicles over which you have priority, but who might think there's enough time to move first)- trust the laws of physics more than the laws of man (a 30-ton truck is a better barrier than a red light)- stay alert, keep looking for ways past other vehicles not ways to hit them- don't assume ! drivers have seen you, at least unless you are right in front ! of them in traffic going the same speed as them with your lights on...Show more

Melvin Nakama: IMO, most accidents happen because *two* idiots meet. Most people avoid the "accident" that the idiot would have. There are more motorcycle accidents because many idiots like motorcycles.Tips? Know the truth -- if you protect yourself you will have more accidents. See "Risk Compensation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Risk_compensationOthers tell you to ride "as if" you are invisible. They are wrong. You *ARE* invisible. They say to use lights and bright colors so that others will see you. See Risk Compensation, above. Anything you do to others to see you will have you looking slightly less -- and you will crash. The only way to avoid the collision is for *you* to see and avoid the hazard.Never drive/ride faster than you can stop in the distance you can see....Show more
